ORRA members Bruce Elliott, Stirling Sothby’s International Realty, and Kim Meredith-Hampton, Hampton & Hampton Management Leasing, will be having some fun at Universal Orlando and at Blue Man Group, respectively.
Bruce and Kim each donated diapers to the ORRA Diaper Drive (benefitting the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida) and in return had their names drawn during the ORRA Membership Meeting and Member Appreciation Reception on May 26. The tickets were donated to ORRA by Cox Media Group Orlando.
The night’s big bucks, however, went to Oviedo High School’s Allison Tate-Cortese, whose essay on the topic “How Does a REALTOR® Professional Benefit the Community?” earned her a $1,000 scholarship from the Florida REALTORS® Scholarship Essay Contest and a shot at one of three $5,000 state-level scholarships to be awarded this summer. Allison attended the reception and even read her essay aloud.Finally, the event wrapped with the recognition of ORRA member Charlie Brenner, Brenner, Inc., as ORRA’s newest REALTOR® Emeritus. This distinction is awarded by NAR for 40 years of membership in the REALTOR® organization.
ORRA Business
Members in attendance voted in favor of changing the ORRA Bylaws as proposed by the ORRA Bylaws and Policies Task Force. The changes were developed with the intent of redefining the responsibilities of an elected vice chairman to better serve ORRA’s needs, and of changing ORRA’s fiscal and programming year.
